Guguan is located in Bo`ai Village of Heping District of Taichung City. The altitude is 800 meters. It is next to Dajia River. It is a standard valley. The place is called Guguan because the Central Cross-Island Highway cuts across the valley and it looks like a guarded entrance. It is at the meeting points of Central Cross-Island Highway eastbound and westbound. It is also the center of Central Cross-Island touring route.

Songhe was also known as the Kuras or Kurasu tribe.  It was a tribe of the Atayals, and “Defulan” refers specifically to the Atayals in the Songhe area, meaning plenty of water and fertile soil and a place suitable for people to live. After Taiwan Restoration, because it is usually to see many egrets looking for food at Dajia River. It looks like white cranes flying and dancing from afar. Therefore, this place was renamed “Songhe.”

Dakeng Scenic Area is a scenic area developed and established by Taichung City Government in 1976. Although it is located in the mountain area of Beitun, Taichung City, it is conveniently accessible. As an important tourist spot with natural landscape in Taichung City, it is recognized as the “Yangmingshan” of Taichung City. Currently, it is governed by Taichung City Scenic Area Administration Office.

The museum at Dongshi Hakka Cultural Park is renovated from the Old Dongshi Railway Station. The original platforms and canopy at the entrance of the waiting room were torn down because their structure was too old. Yet the exhibition room renovated from the waiting room reserves the long benches passengers used to sit on when waiting for the train on purpose.

Lavender Forest is run by two girls with dreams. Here, the tourists can know a variety of flowers and plants as well as taste food made of these flowers and plants. The herb fair here sells many different kinds of spices, pot plants of Lavandula angustifolia, and all kinds of daily goods. The tourist can choose products they like. The wish trees in the end of the trail are hung with wish cards. The tourists can write down their wishes on the card and hope to have their wishes realized through the power of the wish trees. This is the most popular among tourists. They can enjoy good food and experience life in nature leisurely here.
